Community Centre

Through the vision and support of the congregation of the Strand Church (United Reformed Church) and the community at large, the Strand Community Trust was formed in 2011 as a charitable company limited by guarantee.  It then leased the church building to fulfil its object of creating a community Centre in the town centre.

It stands today as Dawlish’s community hub, and as a place for United Churches of Dawlish and District, (UCADD) to serve the community. For more information on UCADD click HERE. The centre is busy seven days a week from the early hours until evening with a range of activities on offer, from keep fit groups, to baby and toddler morning and knitting afternoons.

Although the cafe plays a big part in feeding the community it is not the only option provided by the Centre. Mondays see the Oakwood Court College take the cafe reins, offering a coffee morning and lunch, and there are Lunch Clubs on Monday and Tuesday in the Strand Hall serving two-course favourites.  For more information phone 01626 889098 and ask for Marie.
